He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bernardy and Wilhimina "Minnie" Bernardy (Goslar); his daughter Jeanne Bernardy; his daughter-in-law Cathy Bernardy; his brothers, Bernard, Ordell, Clarence, Melvin, Leonard and Gayle "Bud"; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Catherine Craig; and his brothers-in-law, Merlin Craig, Larry, Shirley Craig and John Hoeniger.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Darlene of Minneota; his sons, Jeff Bernardy (Joyce) of Apache, OK, Jim Bernardy (Cheryl) of Ankeny, IA, Doug Bernardy (Gina) of Mt. Zion, IL and Scott Bernardy of Minneota; his sister Barbara Sumerfelt; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Hoeniger, Jackie Craig and Bill Craig (Carole). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.
