She was predeceased by: her parents, LaVella Karsten (Beldt) and Ferdinand Karsten; her former husband Donald Koppien; her husband Dennis D. Johnson; her son Steven; her stepson Bradley; her siblings, Clifford Karsten, Bertha DeVries and Mary Ellen Stafford; and her stepson-in-law Andy Marriot.
She is survived by: her children, LaVelle Mullenberg (Greg) of Le Sueur, MN, Michelle Koppien (John Schulte) of Sanborn, MN and Timothy Koppien (Dee) of Minneota; her stepdaughters, Terry Mercer (Gary) of Marshall, Chris Bertelt of Morgan and Deneen Carpenter of Cable, WI; her stepson-in-law Rick Carpenter; her grandchildren, Courtney Latzke (Greg), Jessica Koppien Fox (Mike), Abigail Koppien Nemec (Gregg) and Jennifer Koppien (Karl Anderson); her great grandchildren, Harlow Latzke, Morgan Moon (Fox) and Liam Nemec; and her sister Carol Soward of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by step grandchildren, relatives and friends.
