He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank August Ferdinand Sanow and Fanna Christina Gesia Sanow (Aljet); his sons, Duane Richard Sanow and Ray Erwin Sanow; and his grandsons, Joshua and Jacob.

He is survived by: his wife Janyce Marie Sanow; his daughters, Cynthia Dorrance (Carrie) and Brenda VanNoStrand; his daughter-in-law Jan Sanow; and his brother Vernon Sanow. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
