He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Engels and Margaret Engels (VanOverbeke); his son Christopher; and his parents-in-law, Harry and Martha Stassen.
He is survived by: his child Ghent; his significant other Rita; his children, Ann Guttormsson (Eric) of Taunton, John Engels (Karla) of Minneota and Mary Beth Kwasniewski (Troy) of Clear Lake, SD; his grandchildren, Alex (Joanna Moser), Heidi Guttormsson, Amber, Travis Engels, Tristen and Morgan Kwasniewski; and his siblings, Wallace Engels (Delores) of Minneota, Larry Engels (Paulette) of Alexandria, Mary Lee Engels of Independence, MO and Tom Engels (Sharon) of Woodbury. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren showed their 4-H animals.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Eloi Catholic Church, Sisters of Mary Morning Star or Prairie Home Hospice.
