He was predeceased by: his son William James; and his sister Margaret Ann. He is survived by: his wife Julia; and his children, Brian (Katherine Kay), Mary, Catherine (Michael Blassey), Sandra (Thomas Kendall) and Susan Robiner (William). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
