He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Nancy, Phillip Thompson (Spark), Helen and Charlie Banks; and his aunts, Alice Kluck (Thompson) and Agnes Behrends (Thompson).

He is survived by: his parents, Charlene Thompson and Allen Thompson; his siblings, Stephanie Griffiths (Leon), Colleen Thompson (Tobin Gilbert), Justin Thompson, Jared Thompson, Ann Hanratty (Thompson), Alane Peterson (Thompson), Diana Banks and Kathy Kluck; his nieces and nephews, Calvin, Colin Griffiths, Ofelia, Ansel Thompson Gilbert and Brooke Thompson; and his stepfather Gary Hendrickson. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
