He was predeceased by: his parents, George Devitt and Gert Devitt; his wife Lois Gilbert Devitt; and his brother Edward Devitt. He is survived by: his brother-in-law Stan Barenbaum; his close friends, Ben Steinberg and Robert Levine; his children, Jay, Nancy (Rick Chase), Gary (Susan Burgstahler) and James; his grandchildren, Joel (Melissa), Jamey (Kelsey), Alayna, Alesha, Dana and Natalie; his great grandchildren, Micah and Adalyn; his sister Bettie Barenbaum; and his nieces and nephews, Sally Barenbaum, Jane Barenbaum Watkins (Hackey Choi), Steve (Anne) and Bob Devitt.
