He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Phillips and Katherine Phillips; and his brother Frank Phillips Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Vicky Phillips; his children, Erin Van Heel (Mike) and Layle Phillips; his granddaughter Vivian Van Heel; his sister Maria Varsho (Ralph); his nephews, Justice Varsho, Frank Phillips Jr. and Joseph Phillips; and his niece Audra Furbee.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Church of St. Timothy Blaine. Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Ascension (1723 N Bryant Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Gichitwaa Kateri Catholic Church.
