He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean; his parents, Samuel Simmons, Sr. and Ida Mae Young; his stepfather John Young; and his brother Kenneth Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Samuel John (Esther), Deborah Jean (Victor), Michael Scott and Sherri Lynne (Bruce); his grandchildren, Shayna (Dan), Tasha (Kyle), Nicholas (Ashley), Jonathan, Joshua, Justice, Nicole, Elliot (Tori) and Jasmin; his great grandchildren, Avery, Bentley, Harvey, Quinn, Kaiya, Makai and Mya; and his siblings, Lorraine, Wesley (Donna) and Lawrence (Virginia). He is also survived by Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend, Passed away on Veterans Day, November 11, 2018, with his children.
