He is survived by: his wife Sharon Marie Volk; his daughters, Lisa Palmer (Randall) of Kansas City, MO, Laura Nelsen (Brian) of Randolph, MN and Angela Herschberger (Eric) of Montrose, MN; his grandchildren, Justin Thooft, Taylor Thooft, Chelsey Randall (Herschberger), Jordan Herschberger, Danielle Benson, Jessica Swarts (Benson), Collin Craig, Marcus Nelsen and Jaxson Nelsen; his great grandchildren, Adalaine, Vivian Randall and Atlas Swarts; and his siblings, Carol Lietz of St. Peter, MN, James Appel of Lake Benton, MN, Donald Appel of Cape Coral, FL, Grace Odens of Osseo, MN, Gary Appel (Shelly) of New Franklin, MO and Marian Carpenter (Gerry) of Dawson, MN.
