She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Appelbaum; her parents, Rose Margolis and Abe Margolis; her siblings, Dorothy, Mynne, Sarah (Sam), Irv (Clara) and Jack; and her brother-in-law Ken Appelbaum.
She is survived by: her children, Jim (Rachel Greenblatt), Lori and Gayle; her grandchildren, Gabriel and Michal Appelbaum; and her sister-in-law Sally Appelbaum. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Melvin and Phyllis Appelbaum Fund at Sholom Foundation.
