He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Philip A, Carmel Malmstedt, Robert and Viola Stedman; and his nephew Allen Giller.

He is survived by: his parents, Susann Malmstedt and Philip P Malmstedt; his sister Deborah Giller; his children, Nathan and Ledia Malmstedt; and his nephews, William, Jeffrey and Troy. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in honor of Philip to Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, 615 Olaf Hanson Dr, Faribault, MN 55021.
