He was predeceased by: his wife Frances (Boyenga); his parents, William and Emma; and his brothers, Harold, Kenny and Marv.

He is survived by: his children, Patty Jensen, Cindy Larson (Rob), Michael Hertle (Marta) and Jill Hertle; his grandchildren, Noel Bocklund (Jon), Emma Krueger (Matt), Noah Hertle, Brittney Love (Cody) and Caleb Hultman; and his great grandchildren, Cannon Krueger, Bentley and Beau Love. He is also survived by many loving relatives and good friends.
