With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Meinard John Gerads (Minneapolis, Minnesota), who passed away on March 23, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gerads and Juliana Gerads. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Gerads; his children, Marcia, Michelle, Tony and Tommy; his stepchildren, Marie Miller (Robert), Chris Ott and Mike Darst (Heather); his grandsons, Anthony Meinard Gale and Jacob Gerads-Green; his stepgrandchildren, Madison Miller, Emily Ott, ReaLynn Miller, Zach Ott, Kara Darst, Skyler Miller, Matt Darst and Adalyn Darst; and his siblings, Melvin, Rosemary, Rudy, Ellen, Julie, MaryAnn, Bernice and Jane. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
The military honors was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450). Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calendar Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
