Maren Heath Olson Obituary
The passing of Maren Heath Olson (Minneapolis, Minnesota), born in Garner, Iowa leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on March 22, 2025 at the age of 84. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred "Pete" Petersen and Marjorie Petersen (Becker); her husband Jim Olson; her mother-in-law Allene "Fat" Petersen; her sisters-in-law, Katherine Lohn and Marlene Petersen; and her nieces, Debra, Patricia Lohn and Karen Olson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Penny Lovell and Allan "Murph" Petersen (Cindy); her brother-in-law Peter Olson (Judy); her children, Rev. Kevin Olson (Sandi), Eric Olson (Trina), Brian Olson (Amy Strom) and Kris Casey (Sean); her nieces and nephews, Dr. Marcy Larson (Eric), Ryan Petersen (Lori), Lisa Newton (Scott), Ryan Olson, Jeff Olson (Katie McCann), Michelle Goble (Brian), Teresa Lovell-Greenbaum (Jeff Robin) and Tom Lovell (Lisa Wolfe); her grandchildren, Thor Olson (Laura), Travis Olson, Hannah Barthman (Patrick), Dane Olson (Georgi Nguyen), Maren Olson (Sam Velasquez-Eberhart), Kenneth Olson (Kaylene), Lillyanne Strom, Benn Olson and Eric Strom; and her great grandchildren, James, Elanor Olson, Manny Velasquez-Olson and Remi Jo Olson. She is also survived by cousins, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (5005 Northwest Blvd, Plymouth, MN 55442).
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the U of M ARIC (Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities) Study, a study that Maren, her children and her husband's family have been active participants in for the last 35 years since her husband passed away in 1990.
