He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schwendeman and Mary Schwendeman (Penn); and his brothers, Norman and Richard "Dick" Schwendeman. He is survived by: his wife Peg Schwendeman of Hampton; his sons, Nicholas Schwendeman (Ann) of Hastings, MN and Nathan Schwendeman (Stacey) of Frazee, MN; his grandchildren, Mara of Hastings, Jack Schwendeman of Hastings, Rylie of Frazee and Eryn Schwendeman of Frazee; and his sister Marion Hall of Plymouth.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private memorial service and burial is planned for the immediate family.
