She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Berg (Wally) and Lucille Mae Berg (Mattson); her brother James; and her pets, Gus, Max, Savaka and Bella.
She is survived by: her husband John L. Vaala; her sons, Jeffrey and John; her daughters-in-law, Danielle Weerth and Betsy Sikes Vaala; and her grandson Lukas John Erich Vaala.
