It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John William DeWalt (Minneapolis, Minnesota), who passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Sandy DeWalt; and his grandparents, Rodney Nicholson, Jack Smythe, Marian Smythe-Baxter, Johanna and Joe DeWalt.
He is survived by: his father Bill DeWalt; his friends, Melissa Chawla and Marian Saksena; his wife Larina Vosika-Weir; his children, Cole, Greyson and Keya; his parents-in-law, Lois Vosika-Weir and Michael Weir; his sister Terri (Matt Drymalski); his siblings-in-law, Michaela (Mark Nizinski), Tanya (Dan Erickson) and Gavin Weir (Vicy); and his nieces and nephews, Alec, Luke, Bennett, Honora, Ruby Sue and Malia. He is also survived by family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hillside Chapel (2610 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
