He was predeceased by: his son John; and his grandson Andrew Cosgrove. He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his children, Michael (Julie), Karen Ramerth, Kathleen Cosgrove (Steve) and Christine Bue (Patrick); and his brothers, Gordon (Annamae) and Robert (Julie). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
