With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Francis Earl Neir III (Minneapolis, Minnesota), who passed away on August 28, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his family, Nancy and Owakonze; his wife Patti Neir; his close friend Nancy Kiskis; his children, Alex Neir (Stacy), Cassie Morris (Mike) and Olivia Barris (Cole); his grandchildren, Izzy, Lexi Morris and Morgan Neir; his sisters, Maggie Tinsman (Hovey) and Nancy Wachs (Conrad Huff); his sisters-in-law, Sandy Wurm (Mike), Polly Stafford (Mark) and Stephanie Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Hovey Tinsman (Sarah), Heidi Tinsman (Erik Kongshaug), Bruce Tinsman (Sharon), Melissa Herskowitz, Christian Wurm (Aidee), Chloe Smith, Andrew and Mitch Stafford (family: Scott, Dean, Max, Warren, Elyse Bercot). He is also survived by adopted son and family.

“So sorry to hear about the passing of Fran. Only met him once, but corresponded a lot with him. We share the same great great grand father. Both into ancestor research. I marveled when I met him at how much alike we were, same build, looks resembled in looks, same vibrant personality. Amazing how things carry through. My sympathy to the family. p.s. My grand daughter and family moving to Denver in a couple of weeks, already looking for a home. She has kept her Name Alicia Neir.”
