He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Herstein and Sophie Herstein; and his brothers, Morty, Elliot and Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Aileen; his children, Murray Herstein (Vicki), Karen Kaufmann (Farley) and Elizabeth Salsberg (Jamey); his brother Jeffrey Herstein; his grandchildren, Mollie, Sarah, Jason, Evan, Josh and Sophie; his great grandchildren, Isabel, Liam, Ella, Ben, Rafi, Claire, Aden, Eli, Itai, Leo and Olivia; and his great great grandchildren, Lila and Luka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the B'Nai Emet Cemetery (7032 Penn Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423). A shiva was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roitenberg Family Assisted Living Residence (3610 Phillips Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55426).
