He was predeceased by: his wife Deloris Hansen (Szczech); his parents, Mary Guptil (William) and Raymond Hansen; his siblings, Mary Jane Jandl and Curtis Hansen; and his son-in-law Alfred E Smith Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Joyce Wolters (David), Vicki Smith, Lori Hansen Kittleson and Karen; and his brother Gordon Guptil (Judith). He is also survived by 16 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart (4087 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55422). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
