He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Smith and Hannah Smith. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Iwen Smith; his daughters, Becky Beeskow (Jerry), Jennifer Von Behren (Mike) and Angela Smith; his grandchildren, Jourdyn Beeskow (Jordan Perry), Bryce Beeskow, Kiandrah Beeskow, Micah Von Behren and Moriah Von Behren; and his sister Marsha Davis (Mike). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
