He was predeceased by: his parents, A. Mort Paymar and Shirley Paymar. He is survived by: his wife JoAn Paymar (Ekbom); his children, Kara Paymar and Brad Paymar (Kelley Whitmore); his grandchildren, Eli, Jonah Haddorff, Maia and Josie Paymar; and his siblings, Robert Paymar (Mary) and Wendie Ryder (Steve).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to VOSH Minnesota (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the vision needs of people around the world who cannot afford or do not have access to vision care.
