He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Griese and Lenore Griese (Breitkreutz); his wife Fern Drexler (Larson); his siblings, Mildred Bernhagen, Bonnie Ingenthron and LeRoy; and his stepgranddaughter Sharilyn.
He is survived by: his daughter Cathy Grothen (Don) of Parkers Prairie; his stepchildren, Sharon Peterson of Braham, Frank Drexler of Isanti and Wally Drexler (Julie) of Alexandria; and his siblings, Deanna Griese of Alexandria and Charles Griese of Mankato. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
