He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Pomerenke and Edith Pomerenke (Blank); his wife Sonja Pomerenke; his siblings, Caroline Pomerenke and Edwin Pomerenke; and his brother-in-law Chester Lundsten.
He is survived by: his children, Wendy Irons (Alan) of Duluth and Jeffrey Pomerenke (Nicole) of Deer Creek; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Irons of Superior, WI and Luke Irons; his siblings, Eric Pomerenke (Marlene) of Parkers Prairie, Mark Pomerenke of Monte Rio, CA, Alvina Lundsten of Williams, Rosemary Pomerenke-Biel of Elkhart, TX, Helen Oltz (Carl) of New Branfels, TX and Sandy Tonyan (Ron) of Newport, WA; his stepchildren, Cindy Brown (Steve) of Minneapolis and Robert Schmeisser of Alexandria; his stepgrandchildren, Rachel of Minneapolis, Hannah of Minneapolis and Micah Brown of Minneapolis; and his former wife Mary Schmeisser of Alexandria. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
