He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl A. Johnson and Anna Johnson (Ingman); and his siblings, Bill, Curt, Jerome, Ethelyn, Shirley and Lois.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Huemoeller; his children, Timothy Johnson (Jean) and Judy Mycue (Rich); his grandchildren, Abby Schnedler (Zac), Isaac Johnson (Kaitlyn), Maggie DeFelice (Felipe) and Clay Mycue (Justine); his great grandchildren, Griffin, Grayson Schnedler, Maisie Johnson, Esperanza and Joaquin DeFelice; and his siblings, Dean Fransen, Joyce Bouma, Joan Van Grinvsen and Paul Johnson.
