He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Thomas and Bernice Suzann Hepp; and his brothers, Thomas and Jerome Hepp. He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his daughters, Cindy Layton (Jim), Rita Desmond (Mark) and Kate Hepp (Mike Bartz); his grandchildren, Timothy Layton (Ashley Dickson), Sarah Dodson (Jason), Benjamin Layton, Andrew Desmond (Lisa) and Allison Desmond; his great grandchildren, Soren, Shaw, Alden, London, Payton, Luke and Zachary; and his sister Milene Wegner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
