He was predeceased by: his parents, Theresa Schmidt (Lindl) and John William Schmidt Sr.; and his brother Ronny. He is survived by: his wife Debra; his children, Jackie, Jody Schmidt, John Schmidt, Tony Schmidt (Kelly) and Erich Schmidt (Danielle); and his stepchildren, Andy Hodgson (Jenn) and Jenae Palewicz (Toby). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many more friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
