He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Doug Gillen and Joe Kotok. He is survived by: his parents, Larry and Susan; his brothers, Jack and Simon; his pet George; his grandmothers, Jane Gillen and Retta Kotok; his aunts and uncles, Kathy (Corey Melville), Steve (Kristal Gillen), Dave (Tamra Gillen), Jay (Marie Lackmann), Lori (Tom Anderson) and Janice (Bob Krauth); and his friends, Mark Rogalski and Sam Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in his name to Saint Thomas Academy to provide financial assistance to more families who desire a Catholic education.
