He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvid Peterson and Evelyn Peterson; his stepfather Carl Hendrickson; his daughters, Julie and Margaret; his grandson Brian Pietila; his brothers, Ray and Calvin; and his brother-in-law Ben Wuollet.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Mark Peterson (Laura) of Delano, Mike Peterson (Loretta) of Greenfield, Kathryn Johnson (Keith) of Laurium, Loren Peterson (Anita) of Cokato, Al Peterson (Maggie) of Menahga, Rachel Ylitalo (Brad) of Delano, Jon Peterson (Sara) of Menagha, Rebecca Pietila (Mark) of Howell, Nora Pietila (Peter) of Delano, Brian Peterson (Emily) of Menahga and Kristin Juopperi (Dennis) of Delano; and his siblings, Ronald Peterson (Audrey) of Phoenix, Jeanette Wuollet of Phoenix, Joyce Kumpala (Eugene) of Menahga and Ruth Koivisto (Paul) of Phoenix. He is also survived by 75 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
