He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Jeanette Baumgart (Leonard) and Lester Baumgart; his siblings, Virginia Pikula, Jerome "Sonny" Baumgart, Carol Collins, Barb Pikula, Steve Baumgart and Mary Brown; his father-in-law Melvin Maaninga; and his brother-in-law Bryan Maaninga.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna of Menahga; his stepsons, Nathan Lapinoja and Justin Lapinoja of Fargo; his sister Hazel Gibbs (John) of Meadview, Arizona; his mother-in-law Darlene Maaninga; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Baumgart of New York Mills, Ron Pikula of New York Mills, Gary Collins of Detroit Lakes, Duane Pikula, Lyle Brown of Menahga, Wayne Maaninga and Darryn Maaninga.
