He was predeceased by: his grandson Thomas; and his siblings, Arthur Schnell, Wayne Schnell, Helen Wohlfeil and Adeline Smith.

He is survived by: his spouse Doris Plank; his children, Cyril "Sam" Schnell (Betty) of Melrose, Marcy Dose (James) of Lake City, Edward Schnell (Lorraine) of Lewiston, Peggy Tentis of Millville, Russell Schnell (Sandy) of Durham, NC, Lonnie Schnell (Laura) of Millville and Missy Bartsh (Mark) of Plainview; and his siblings, Joanne Jostock and Eugene Schnell. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
