He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Herges and Alvina Herges (Meyer); his sister Dolores Schmidt (Herges); his brother-in-law George Schmidt; his sister LaRue Kociemba (Herges); and his siblings-in-law, Stan Kociemba, Peg Herges, Doris Baltes (Botz), Dan Baltes and Dwight Kirscht.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Jean, Julie (Jim), Jon and Jeff (Deanna); his grandchildren, Kelsey (Taylor), Gina (Zach), Chad (Gianna), Curtis, Andrew (Rae) and Taylor; his great grandchildren, Piper, Lilly, Otto, Logan, Colin and Zoey; his brother Tom Herges; and also, Omer Sieben of Melrose and John Gagliardi of St. John's University.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions.
