He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Rieland and Loretta Rieland (Welle); his brother John "Jack" Rieland; his parents-in-law, John L. and Irene Sullivan; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis "Mike" Sullivan, Stewart Laird and Gary Winter.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rieland of Melrose; his children, Ryan (Jessica) of Shakopee, Matthew (Shari), Meghan Brown (Daniel) of Melrose and Paul Rieland (Sue) of Cold Spring; his grandchildren, Emily, Grace, James, Allison, William, Patrick, Bennett, Katherine, Nora and Andrew; his brothers, Gary (Katie) of St. Louis Park and Mark Rieland (Lou) of Durand, WI; and his sister-in-law Shirley Rieland of Grey Eagle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's School or the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
