He is survived by: his children, Stacie Michels (Walter) of Sauk Centre, Jill Metzger of Cold Spring, John Deters of Melrose and Shawn Deters (Sara Brick) of Sauk Centre; his grandchildren, Tia Ellis (Terrence), Alexis Steinhofer (Jake), Morgan Heuer (Weston), Olivia, Jack Metzger, Kalob Deters, Hailey Ollom and Bentley Klaphake; his great grandchild Ezra Ellis; and his brothers, Tom Deters (Sharon) of Mena, Gene Deters (Julie Stepan) of West Union, John Deters of Altoona and Jim Deters of Sauk Centre.
