She was predeceased by: her mother Louise Unger; and her siblings, Richard Unger, Jerome Unger, William "Bill" Unger, Francis Unger, Alexia "Lexi" Sanders, Jane Lull and Rita.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Messerich of Melrose; her children, Cindi Hogerton (Pete), Ray Messerich of Sauk Rapids, Jim Messerich (Linda) of St. Cloud, Bonnie Anderson (Marc) of Alexandria and Brian Messerich (Christy) of Sandy, UT; her grandchildren, Chris Messerich, Eric Messerich, Sam Hogerton, Amy Hogerton Stading, Megan Huber, Jamie Anderson and David Anderson; her great grandchildren, Cole, Claire, Leo and Peter; and her siblings, Betty Campbell, Mary Ann Bentler, Robert Unger, Lorraine Morgan and Irene Drehsen.
