It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Klaphake (Melrose, Minnesota), who passed away on February 3, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gilbert Klaphake to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Marcella "Sally" Klaphake; his brother Oswald Klaphake; and his brothers-in-law, Leo Borgerding, Wayne Schiffler and Reuben Van Beck.

He is survived by: his children, Rick Klaphake (Deb) of Melrose, Diane Frieler (Mark) of Sauk Rapids, Laura Meyer (Mike) of Melrose and Leon Klaphake (Mary) of Melrose; and his siblings, Viola Borgerding, Arlene Van Beck, Jerome Klaphake (Joyce), Julie Moening (Jim), Geri Schiffler-Wensmann (Urban) and John Klaphake (Mary Jane). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
