He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Wenker and Rose Wenker (Kortenbusch); and his siblings, Herbert Wenker (Dorothy), Edmund Wenker (Tillie), Raymond Wenker (Lorraine), Adolph Wenker, Larry Wenker, Sylvia Schulzetenberg (Henry), Edna Worms (Melvin), Marie Schneider (Eddie) and Florentine Hammer (Ken).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Wenker of Melrose; his children, John Wenker (Bonnie) of St. Cloud, Karen Anderson (Dan) of Wyoming, Janice Jones (Terry) of Falcon Heights and Greg Wenker of Hopkins; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, Samantha and Jackelyn; his stepgranddaughter Nicole; his sister Adeline Schaefer of Burnsville; and his sisters-in-law, Radie Wenker of Albany and Rita Mehr of Melrose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A prayer was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home (418 Fifth Ave SE, Melrose, MN 56352). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (755 E Kraft Dr, Melrose, MN 56352).
