He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Ella; his great grandchild Bennett Schafer; and his siblings, Donald, Richard, Glen Mitchell and Dorothy Jarvin.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia A. Groth; his children, Daniel Mitchell (Sue) of Mantorville, Denise Liffrig (Larry) of Mazeppa, Derald Mitchell (Cindy) of Mazeppa and Daren Mitchell (Sharon) of Zumbrota; his siblings, Robert Mitchell (Joan) of Rochester and Alice O'Groske of Byron; and his siblings-in-law, Ella Mitchell of Kasson and Bill Jarvin of Rochester. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
