He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ast and Myrtle Ast; his brother David Ast; his son Don; and his sisters, Donna (Jerry Fjellin) and Shirley (Tom Downing).
He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Ast and Diane Lewis (Gary); his spouse Jackie Vos; and his daughters, Robin (Keith Beito), Mary Beth (Joe Gagner), Michelle and Melanie. He is also survived by spouses provided seven grandsons and one granddaughter, as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
