He is survived by: his wife Meri Jo Gillund of Maynard; his son Jeremy Knutson (Cortney Jenkins) of Aberdeen, SD; his grandson Lane Knutson; and his siblings, Daryl Gillund (Julie) of Alexandria and Valerie Vlaminck (Ronald) of Taunton. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; uncles.

“Mary Jo, I was so saddened when I heard of Jeff's passing. I was out of state and found out yesterday when I returned. He was such a bright light! Whenever he would see me, he would break out in that great smile of his and make you feel like you were special to him. I am very sorry for your loss as I have to believe it's very hard. Once he finds David, they will have some good times reminiscing about the good ole days! Please accept my deepest sympathy!”
