He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes DeVries and Ella DeVries (Buchert); his daughter Kristi DeVries; his brother Darrel DeVries; and his son-in-law Kurt Caron.
He is survived by: his former wife JoAnne Meulebroeck; his wife Marlyn DeVries of Marshall; his children, Kelly Caron of Marshall and Mike DeVries (Kim) of Tyler; his grandchildren, Dustin Krause (Michael Jo Koch) of Tracy, Brittany Johnson (Dustin) of Ruthton, Mike Stillo of Marshall, Joseph DeVries of Tyler, Ellie DeVries of Tyler, Grace DeVries of Tyler, Jacob DeVries of Tyler and Hannah DeVries of Tyler; his great grandchildren, Joanne Krause and Anastasia Oney; and his siblings, Mavis Schultz (Kenny) of Marshall, Marlis Gladis of Tracy and Dean DeVries (Sandy) of Story City, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
