He was predeceased by: his parents, John Arends and Dora Arends (Wolters); his daughters, Deborah and Lisa; and his siblings, John, Henry, Joe, Leo, William, Margaret and Minnie.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Ertz of Brandt, SD.; and his children, Paul (Joyce), Laura Mead (Richard), Gregory (Elaine), James (Mari), Patricia Vierstraete (Dan), Jeffrey (Jane), Brenda Schmitz (Duane) and Jean (Jim Wilton). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed at all services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Edward Church and School in Minneota.
