He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Hamel and Katie Hamel. He is survived by: his wife Margie (Schottler); his children, Alyssa, Joe, Ellen (Laura) and Peter; his grandchildren, Owen and Iggy; and his siblings, Anne Katz (Kenny), Peggy Magnuson (John), Nick (Mona), Patty and Michelle Noltimier (Kurt).
