He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Girgen and Mary Girgen (Welsch); his former wives, Clarine Ostertag and May Girgen; his siblings, Francis, Jerome, Rosemary, Delores and Clarence; his great grandchild Maci Townsend; and his stepson Arthur Young.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Steinmueller; his children, Joseph Girgen (Sue), Jeffrey Girgen (Linda), John Girgen (Jean), Janet Hince (Doug), James Girgen, Joyce Townsend (Russell), Jerald Girgen (Kelly Loesch) and Julie Girgen; his daughter-in-law Joyce Young; his grandchildren, Brian, Mindy, Jeremy, Jeff H., Jeremy H., Melisa, Zakry, Deanna, Jonathon and Anna; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Wyatt, Cayson, Silas, Brandt, Leo, Madelyn, Scarlet, Quintin, Jacob, Hallie, Lexus, Aunna, Jemma, Kenley, Jett and Levi. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
