He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Laura; his siblings, Louie, Willard, Margaret, James and Ray; his son Christopher; his daughter-in-law Cynthia; his great grandchild Chloe; and his close friend Terry Ahrens.

He is survived by: his wife Renee; his children, Michael, Mary (Joel Peterson), Betsy Newton (Terry), Stephen, Therese, Joseph Sr. (Roxanne), Thomas (Chrissy), Harry Jr. and John (Melissa); his grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Scott, Jason, Jim, Kelly, Joe Jr., Laura, Ruby, Jack, Ashley, Alex, Nicholas, Justin, Tyler, Tyson, Sebastian and Jordan; his siblings, Dean (Margaret) and Theresa Berry; and his close friend Jim Richie.

Memorials may be made to Church of St. Peter or Habitat for Humanity.
