He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Strand and Violet Strand (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Jeanette "Jan" Strand; his children, Jodi Wittner (Tom) and Todd Strand (Laura); his grandsons, Bryan Wittner (Briana) and Jason Wittner (Nicole); and his great grandchildren, Addison, Easton and Levi.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Maplewood, MN.
