He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene Johnson; his parents, Russell and Marion; his sister Judy Casmey; his niece Michele Belknap; and his great-nephew Forest Sommer.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Qualick, John Johnson (Molly) and Laura Churchill (Virgil); his grandchildren, Ashley, Beau, Aidan, Roland, Stella, Andrew and Leah; and his sisters, Janet Kurhajetz (Tom) and Jill Habdas (Mike). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
