He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Birr and Louise Birr; his daughter Michelle; his brother Mark; and his niece Lana.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Sue Schmidtke; his children, Andrew (Megan) and Kayla; his son-in-law Daniel; his grandchildren, Breanna Stimpert (Chris), Kaitlyn Birr, Emilia Straumann, Lillyan Birr, David Straumann, Everett Birr, Nathaniel Straumann, Pearl Birr and Joseph Birr; and his great grandchildren, Exodus and Creed Stimpert.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (104 Central Ave S, Mapleton, MN 56065). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
